On Tuesday we were very lucky to have the opportunity to be interviewed on Uckfield FM.
We spoke to the lovely Tony Williams who asked lots of great questions covering:
A reminder of how OWF was formed
Our current local projects
The newly refurbished Bereavement room at the PRH, Haywards Heath
Working with Shelley Trigwell and Hayley Marie - Pregnancy Loss midwives
Up and coming events and what’s on
Our work in both the PRH, Haywards Heath and the RSCH, Brighton
Future plans and developments
I’m not sure how we managed to squeeze all of that into one interview but we did!
You can listen to the full interview here:
*NEW* online Bereavement Support Group
OWF are truly grateful to two special ladies who are working alongside OWF to steer changes within early loss and the EPU’s at the PRH and the RSCH.
During our experiences with the two hospitals it became clear that the need for online support was definite.... so on the 2nd March (a very special date for one of our ladies) we launched two new groups.
Our little Stars And Shooting Stars ...
Our Shooting Stars is a group for women who have sadly experienced the loss of a baby between 14 -24 weeks gestation.
The group has been created to give support by sharing with others who have had similar experiences during and after the loss of a baby in the early stages of pregnancy.
Our Shooting Stars is run in affiliation with Oscar’s Wish Foundation (Registered Charity Number 1169892). Oscar’s Wish Foundation supports anyone affected by losing a baby before, during or shortly after birth through a wide range of resources. Support for those who have lost a baby before 14 weeks gestation can be sought through Our Little Stars page and for Fathers on the Dads grieve too pageon Facebook.
We hope you find this page supportive during such difficult days.
Oscar's Wish Foundation are very proud to be part of the team who can now announce the exciting news.
After a lot of planning and sheer hard work it has been confirmed that the Senior Management Team at the RSCH have granted permission for two rooms to be allocated and redeveloped into a *NEW* Bereavement Suite.
The RSCH does not currently have a dedicated room and this project lead by Hayley Stevenson will make such a difference.
"I was very well cared for in a private room on the labour ward but it was hard to leave knowing I might hear little ones crying" (2018)
This suite is very much needed and we are very honoured to be part of the team to help make it happen.
From my own personal experience and the experience of many of our OWF Families this kind of suite is going to provide a safe space. In the hours and days after parents experience their loss a suite will ensure that they have a space that meets their needs but where family can come and spend time making memories too.
The team is made up of many expertise and experiences. Hayley Stevenson (Labour Ward lead and Bereavement midwife) and Shelley Trigwell (Bereavement midwife) Kara- Jessica's Mummy, Leanne - Jenson's Mummy and two charities - David Ward Founder of Abigial's Footsteps and Abigail's Father coupled with Oscar's Wish Foundation.
Below is our fundraising page as we aim to raise £50,000 to make this project a reality.
Please share it far and wide. If you think you could help fund raise or have a charity collection pot in your workplace, shop or office please get in touch.
Last Sunday Oscar’s Wish Foundation held its last and final Charity Auction and Raffle as Charity of the Year at the beautiful Buxted Park Hotel.
Buxted Park Hotel chose OWF as it’s COTY (Charity of the Year) this time back in November 2016 and we were invited to take our raffle prizes and auction prizes along to each Music Event that was held throughout 2017. This enabled us to raise awareness of our charities work and to fund raise for local projects....
Sam contacted me and asked if he could donate a framed signed rugby boot, prints and authenticity certificate for the late Jonah Lomu...
This amazing gesture raised a huge £750!
OWF would like to say – Thank you Sam and thank you Natalie for being phenomenal.
Throughout the year as COTY (Charity of the Year) we have raised a tremendous £3,135.00 at Buxted Park – a ginormous thank you to everyone who has brought raffle tickets, bid in the auction and donated prizes.

Oscar's Wish Foundation has now sent out over 100 Love-a-Bear Memory Bears locally to our families.
These beautiful bears mark and honour thier precious child's life in a way that allows other siblings to cuddle and hold when they are missing them.
One of our grateful parents said "Our Love-a-Bear Memory Bear arrived this morning in Memory of Frazer who was born to soon in March this year. Our hearts have ached and arms longed to hold him close. The children have not put Frazer Bear down and are currently asleep with him in their beds. Having Frazer Bear has meant that he will always be remembered and to hear his name has brought so much love to my heart.
Thank you OWF for mending us a little."
A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE

Obtaining charitable status opens so many doors for us at OWF and would mean we could apply for a variety of grants and funding, helping us grow our local Charity to help more bereaved families and children. With your help to fundraise it would mean we would be a step closer to reaching our goal and raising more awareness for the families whom feel alone and silenced.
All of the above Events have been successful in 2015 – We have been very fortunate to try and attend the event showing our support. We will provide a fundraising pack, balloon, banner, sponsor form, posters, etc to help your event be a success!
To thank the amazing midwives who looked after Gemma during her bed rest in hospital at The Princess Royal Hospital, Hayward's Heath we made an OWF cake to show our appreciation. The midwives recognised Gemma straight away and were very kind in welcoming her back for a cuppa and piece of cake. She shared the news of the recent launch of OWF and what the purpose of the NFPO was.
Thank you YES PROMO PRODUCTS!
