Counselling Support – Signposting Service

Life can be incredibly challenging after the devastating loss of a baby or babies. Finding the right support at the right time can feel overwhelming and we want you to know that you are not alone.
Oscar’s Wish Foundation is here to support you by signposting you to trusted, compassionate counselling providers who offer a gentle and professional approach to therapy. While we are currently unable to offer funded sessions, we remain committed to helping you access the support you need.
How We Can Help
We can connect you with experienced and qualified counsellors who are registered members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). These professionals offer a safe, confidential space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions, whether as an individual or as a couple.
Sessions are either:
-
Online (via Zoom)
-
Face-to-face in Uckfield
Session Fees (Self-Funded)
-
Individual sessions: £50
-
Couples sessions: £55
Once we connect you with one of our trusted counsellors – Candy or Kate – they will guide you through the process of self-funding your therapy. Typically, they work in blocks of six sessions, with regular reviews to ensure the support continues to meet your needs.
We're Still Here for You
Although the counselling sessions are currently self-funded, our dedication to supporting bereaved families remains unchanged. If you are unsure about what support is right for you, please do not hesitate to reach out by emailing Gemma at oscarswishfoundation@gmail.com or messaging us through our Contact page.
Counsellors

Candy - Counsellor
I am an experienced integrative therapist specialising in grief, loss and trauma. My approach offers a safe and supportive space for individuals to explore their unique process, at their own pace. I bring both personal and professional experience to those work, particularly around complex and traumatic losses, and am deeply committed to walking alongside those navigating the pain of bereavement.

Kate - Counsellor
I am a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Clinical Psychologist with over ten years’ experience working across a range of services within the NHS. Alongside my private practice, I currently work as a Principal Clinical Psychologist across a Specialist Perinatal Community Mental Health Team and a Maternal Mental Health Service supporting clients with perinatal mental health difficulties including birth trauma and loss.
I have also supported families to navigate the grief and trauma associated with perinatal loss in numerous circumstances (early miscarriage, stillbirth, termination, neonatal death), and also to navigate pregnancy after loss. I consider it an incredible privilege to support families to navigate this period, understand any challenges that may have arisen, and harness self-compassion and kindness.
