On Saturday 12th March this year- Nadir ran a half marathon to raise money for us.
Nadir said āIn doing so, I hope to give back to Oscar's Wish Foundation so that they can continue to provide support to other families who find themselves in this unimaginable positionā
He also said āThose of you who know me well will know that I am not a natural runner, but the memory of Orlando, his amazing family and knowing that I will be raising money for such a worthy cause have really given me the momentum to continue with my training. I hope that this story will resonate with many of you and that you will be able to help in some way to reach the goal. Orlando's story stays with me every day at work now, and I hope that we can all try to make a difference to the families we encounter, no matter how small we think it may be.
Rest in love, Orlando Nova Davis xā
Johnny and Robyn- Orlandoās parents were so touched by friend and Paediatrician, Nadirs kindness. They said āA HUGE thank you to the sweetest gesture from Nadir an amazing paediatrician who we know personally. We felt so unbelievably touched and grateful when he informed us that he would run a marathon in memory of Orlando allowing us to chose a charity. We chose Oscar's Wish Foundation who are helping us every week and for Jonny and I to have weekly appointments to address our severe pain, grief and trauma.ā
Robyn said āOur counsellor is so lovely and we feel itās an entirely safe space to discuss absolutely anything and everything we feel surrounding our birth trauma and our little Orlandoās passing. With Nadir raising money for the charity we are paying back our 6 funded sessions but it will also allow others to have to opportunity for quick access to mental support.ā
āOrlando is doing amazing things even without him being physically present. Thank you so much Nadir your kind gesture means so much.ā

Orlando Davis was born on Friday 10th September 2021, following a low-risk antenatal course. He was a planned homebirth, but sadly things did not go to plan. Due to concerns regarding his and Robynās wellbeing around the time of delivery, Robyn had to be transferred to her local maternity unit. Orlando's birth was extremely traumatic, and Robyn had to be placed into an induced coma due to severe hyponatraemia (low sodium) and fitting, associated with excessive fluid intake during labour. Orlando suffered hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy (lack of oxygen to the brain leading to loss of brain tissue in severe cases) and was also put in an induced coma for the first few days of his life.
Despite the efforts of the neonatal team in Brighton, and the incredible strength and resilience that Jonny and Robyn, who was still unwell herself, showed in willing Orlando better, he was unable to overcome the incredibly difficult start to life that he had suffered. Orlando passed away peacefully in his parents' arms on Friday 24th September 2021, aged just 14 days old.
